New Registrations & Timetable Changes

ECS has seen an influx of new students over the summer, and therefore we must prioritize building timetables for these new students. We also prioritize grade 9 students who are missing classes in their timetable or have major issues.

At this time, we will not be granting timetable changes until we finish registrations for new students. Please refrain from sending student service teachers and administration timetable changes through Edsby messages or emails. All timetable changes will need to go through our homeroom teachers.  Homeroom teachers will provide a QR code to students who meet the criteria below for timetable changes.

Last spring, homeroom teachers worked with students and families to carefully select courses and all parties signed off on the course registration forms. This process has been important to help ensure that we have the right number of sections and course offerings.  It is important to understand that some course requests cannot be accommodated based on class sizes and offerings.  While we recognize that some students may desire to change a selected course, this cannot always be accommodated due to large class sizes.

Students and parents are reminded that timetable changes are not made for the following reasons:

  • A student wishes to have a different teacher
  • A student wants to join the same class, but in a different period
  • A student wants to join friends in a class.

Timetable changes are made for first semester to address the following situations:

  • A student is missing a selected class in their schedule
  • A student enrolled in a class without the prerequisite class
  • A student has failed a class and needs to be re-enrolled in a class
